I have my first blog conference this weekend. In BOSTON. That’s several hundred miles and a plane ride away! To the untrained eye, it might seem silly…frivilous, even, to travel that far to hang out with a bunch of women bloggers for a day.
Perhaps. But I am super excited. I’ve been hearing lots of good things about Bloggy Boot Camp in particular – and the SITS Girls. Apparently, they know how to put on a rockin’ blog conference, while also teaching how to fine tune one’s blogging craft.
I wish I had thrown on my blogging shoes in time for their stop in Baltimore last year. But, convenience has never been my middle name, so instead…I’m Boston bound! And, lucky for me, I know two people that’ll be there. Like, in real life know these ladies.
With one, it’s a college reunion over 10 years in the making. The other? Representing Frederick with me up in Bean Town! AND, I feel pretty special to know them because they’re BOTH so awesome that they were invited to speak at the conference! Not one, but BOTH. Yay me them!
I do wonder one thing though. I wonder if I’ll be the only blogger whose theme isn’t lifestyle or parenting. Seems to be a common theme amongst a lot of my SITS-tahs. I mean, I relate to all their blogs being that I have a life, and I’m a parent. But, I wonder if they’ll all relate to mine….?

Your blog is unique but I am sure you will find others who food blog! Yu know, BlogHer has a whole conference dedicated to flood blogging, so you are out there! Can’t wait to see you!
I would love to attend BlogHer Food – don’t get me wrong. Foodbuzz also has a big conference I’d enjoy…. BUT, they are also REALLY expensive, and for some reason typically on the West Coast. Haven’t figured that one out….
Either way, I’m psyched for this one. And, it’s good to be different!
You have the most relate able blog, FOOD. You will do fine and Boston is beautiful, especially in the spring. I lived there for a while when I was a flight attendant. I wish I could go.
made my way over here from parenting by dummies. will be at bloggy boot camp this weekend too! i’m not a food blogger, but i love cooking so i’m sure i’ll relate 🙂
I’m so nervous but so excited for this weekend! It’s going to be awesome – I know that for sure! 🙂 My main blog is a digital scrapbooking blog so not quite the typical for me either although I do have 2 other (neglected) blogs that fall into the mommy blogger category. I think I’m most excited about all the stuff I’m going to learn but can’t wait to make some new friends too! 🙂 Can’t wait to meet you! 🙂
I was just at Claire’s while she was responding to your flats or heels tweet! I’m pretty new to the world of bloggin…so very excited about this weekend! And my blog’s about scrapbooking…I’ve wondered the same thing about others relating! See you tomorrow!
