A couple weeks ago I was invited to attend a sneak peek of this year’s Frederick Restaurant Week. Squeeeee! Exciting, right?
The outing was crafted by both the Tourism Council of Frederick and the Downtown Frederick Partnership, and included bloggers, writers and media from in and around Frederick County.
If you follow me on Facebook, Instagram and/or Twitter, you probably saw photos of all the delicious goodies I shared along our Frederick Restaurant Week walking tour, but if not, here’s your photo sneak peek before things get rolling next week!
Our larger group started at the new Visitor Center (I still call it new even though its doors opened over a year ago), which played host to a couple of restaurants not within walking distance to downtown—like Red Horse.
Here’s one of the tastes they prepared:
Then, we broke off into smaller groups and each of our groups spent the next two hours trekking to three or four different Frederick Restaurant Week participating restaurants.
My group’s visits included The Wine Kitchen on the Creek, Brewer’s Alley and Shab Row Bistro and Wine Bar:
Our final stop was Ayse Meze Lounge where we reconnected with the other groups to enjoy small bites from their vast menu, all explained in meticulous detail by server TJ:
Our stops didn’t include The Tasting Room, but they’re participating and since it’s one of my favorite downtown eating spots, I had to snap a shot as we strolled by en route to Brewer’s Alley:
There are over 20 different restaurants participating in Frederick Restaurant Week this year.
A lot of them are downtown (but not all of them!) and most offer both lunch and dinner fixed-price meals. It’s the perfect time to try a new restaurant or two without it costing an arm and a leg.
