Dear Cheesecake Factory:
Congratulations on the success of your large chain! My coworkers’ eyes light up at the thought of eating at your restaurant, despite the fact that several of your dishes made the Eat This, Not That “20 Worst Foods in America” article in Men’s Health last year.
#13 Cheesecake Factory Grilled Shrimp and Bacon Club (1746 calories) |
Given these rankings, when one orders a lunch entrée and then is served (and billed for) a dinner portion, it feels kind of offensive, in a stomach-turning kind of way. Although I suppose if you’re happily naive about the caloric content of many of the meals, then it’s not quite as bothersome. Ignorance is bliss, after all! At least my next four meals are taken care of….
#3 Cheesecake Factory Crispy Chicken Costoletta (2494 calories) |
You have an endless menu, extensive even, and since you’re always busy and have become a national staple in malls everywhere, I assumed everything on that extensive menu would be available. Au contraire. After receiving my dinner-that-was-supposed-to-be-lunch-sized-portion of pasta at a recent visit, the thought of eating a slice of cheesecake sent my stomach in a lurch. My friends, however, talked me into getting a slice (why not take it home?) and so I ordered Banana Cream. The response from the waitress when she returned five minutes later?
“The Banana Cream is in the deep freeze and is not serve-able.”
Massive #CheesecakeFAIL, as my tweeeps would say.
#1 Cheesecake Factory Bistro Shrimp Pasta (2727 calories) |
I’m sure I’ll be back given it’s a fave among my friends, but I thought I’d voice my concern over the fact that if there should be one thing available at all times in a restaurant called Cheesecake Factory, it should be ALL THE CHEESECAKE ON THE MENU.
Cheers!
*CRINGE*
Perhaps they should change their name to “Cheesecake Freezer”?!?
LOL. I actually try to find a Cheesecake Factory whenever I am on vacation because I live in Michigan and they don’t have any here 🙁 the closest is probably in Chicago or Ohio.
@Jackie I guess with that volume you have to make them ahead and freeze them? But still.
@Liz The food’s not bad – super rich, and not very healthy. But once and a while, who cares? LOL
The Bayshore Westfield Mall location is ok. But the food is irresistible. And when you have service from waitresses like Altimese ( I hope im spelling it right) you return. At first I thought she was a manager. But she informed me she wasn’t. She’s always smiling and laughing. Very pleasant. Even when I sit with other waitstaff I see her running around with a smile on her face. If she sees me she politely says hello. I usually sit with her at lunch but sometimes her section is full. I feel at home with her And she never writes anything down. Never have a problem with my order. And when I go in with my coworkers, she makes sure we have a great time. Make her a manager already, Im sure she will help this location improve.
