Fresh, locally grown farmers’ market peaches make the best desserts!
Part of the fun of writing a blog is the interaction between you and group of readers.
This post introduces something new I’d like to start featuring on a regular basis: Food Challenge.
Basically, I want to hear from you—what recipes you like, what things you enjoy eating, etc.
I’ll pose a specific genre and you give me ideas of things to try—recipe or not.
Then, I’ll blog about it and let you know how it turned out. Easy enough?
This weekend we’re going to a party at my aunt’s house. My cousin leaves at the end of August for her first semester of grad school at Emory, and we’re giving her a proper send-off.
You see, whenever there’s an opportunity to congregate for a family gathering we jump at the chance … potluck style.
This time, I was dubbed “dessert bringer” and immediately my brain started whirring with ideas, especially since the last one was a big hit: Mango Cheesecake with Basil Lemon Syrup.
How do you top that?
Well, this is where you come in.
I already know the main ingredient I’ll be using: fresh, locally grown farmers’ market peaches.
So juicy that there’s no way to eat one of those peaches without looking like a slobbering mess, I’m SUPER excited to cook/bake/prepare anything with them.
Bring on the peach recipes!
Leave me comments here with your favorite peach dessert, and on Friday I’ll select which peach recipe or idea to use. Then, on Monday morning, I’ll blog about it.
Ready, set, go!
Check out some of my other peach recipes:
An oldie, but a goodie, is a traditional peach crumble (or crisp) depending on what you want to call it. Not fancy at all, but it tastes wonderful! The other thing that came to mind was peach ice cream or peach sorbet! Yum! 🙂
I have seen some great recipes that include BBQing peaches. I have always wanted to try them, they always sound soo good!!
Well, one of my friends did post something about poached peaches on FB, with some kind of syrupy drizzle & ice cream. Mmmm…. Too bad her computer isn’t letting her comment on the blog!
I also make a good peach cobbler, which is *kind of* like a crumble except gooey-er.
I’m getting hungry…..
I like this recipe…never tried it…from Guy Fieri on Food Network. It got 5 stars and sound delish!!

How about peach bread with peach ice cream…or peach cobbler.
Peach ice cream has moved in the front for me, but it needs to go with something…. Hmmmm…
I love the idea of a cobbler, and I’ve never even heard of peach bread! I’ll have to check that out….
I chose the ice cream and poached peaches…if the ice cream wins, you have to put the poached peaches on top! 😀
