“Cooking is notably one of the great tattooed occupations.”
Bryan Voltaggio |
I read this yesterday in an article tweeted by Bryan Voltaggio, chef and owner of Volt in Frederick, MD. He was featured in 5@5, a daily, food-related list from chefs, writers, political pundits, musicians, actors, and all manner of opinionated people from around the globe via Etocracy.cnn.com. It’s neat to see a local guy become so widely known, especially now that it’s been over a year since his Top Chef season ended.
I like to hear the stories behind why people got their tattoos and his were pretty interesting – plus, I have a soft spot for guys that get tattoos to represent their kids. My husband has two.

Then I wondered, what about other well-known chefs? Let’s take a look at a few (because the list could be never ending):

Robbie Lewis |
Jill Barron |
Guy Fieri |
Ok, so some tattoos are cooler than others. I, for one, don’t really see the point of a tattoo on the inner lip to show one’s love of pork. But perhaps I’m just not dedicated enough to the craft!
Do you have any food related ink?

This post is awesome! I never thought about chef-related tattoos, or really even asking people the meaning behind their tattoos in general. (And I have one, so wth?!) lol
