What I’ve learned over the past few days is that it’s hard to come up with good content when you’re sick. SICK.
My family just spent a month in the ills, except me. I magically escaped bronchial distress. Until now. Well, until last Friday. Started with a cough, then a fever, then a runny nose, then a new tickly cough (since the original wasn’t nearly interesting enough on its own). Joy!
ANYway.
The reason for this post is to tout the winner of the January Food Challenge! With 57% of the votes, Ginger Cake with Cardamom Cream won the poll. It was a simple cake to make, aside from the few ingredients I never keep on hand: cardamom, ginger root, cake flour, ground cloves, to name a few.
Remember I’m sick? Well, because of that, hubs had to trudge to the grocery store for me, list of odd ingredients in hand. He did very well, but I’ll leave the details of said grocery store scavenge for a post on another day. Let’s just say he was a trooper.
Here’s a preview of what will come tomorrow – recipe and full photo of the ginger cake with cardamom cream. Enjoy!
