Wegmans is coming to Frederick!
I’m only a little excited. You know, in case you couldn’t tell.
In the 10 years since moving to this historically rich, once highly agricultural Maryland town, things have changed. Frederick still has the benefits of a vibrant farm community, like lots of local produce and other goodies, but other parts of the community continue to blossom exponentially.
Like arts and culture. And FOOD.
Restaurants, like VOLT, in the downtown historic district have become nationally acclaimed. But what about the other dozen restaurants, pubs and cafes that surround VOLT? Just as noteworthy.
And while there are several good grocery store options now, including MOM’s Organic Market (MOM) and The Common Market, I’ve still coveted other towns and their Wegmans.
Now we’re getting one. A Wegmans of our very own. ON JUNE 5TH, PEOPLE!
And it’s only two miles from my house. Less than 10 minutes door-to-door!
Stellar service, pre-cooked meals, a cafe, wide varieties of hard-to-find food things, convenient checkout lanes – I want all of it! (And I hear their prices are competitive too – icing on the cake?)
Anyway, in case I wasn’t already super-duper excited, take a look-see at who just started following me on Twitter:
Look! Of their 19,174 followers, Wegmans has only chosen to follow 5,706 – and one of them is ME.
Fellow Frederick friends, will you be there for the opening on June 5th?
That’s exciting. AND grocery grand openings are crazy fun.
Hi Lisa,
Thanks so much for the mention! We’re so humbled by your kind words.
