This has been one strange summer here in Maryland weather-wise. I’m not complaining, with most of August in the low to mid-80s during the day, and in the 50s and 60s at night – AND bearable amounts of humidity with perfect rainfall. The grass is still a lush shade of green, instead of the usual crispy tan this time of year. It’s actually been quite lovely for my electric bill!
So, here we are in September. It’s one of my most favorite foodie seasons, where baking, warm comfort food, and slow cooker meals abound! My fingers are crossed that August’s fall-like brilliance won’t mean hot, sluggish weather for September. There’s already a tree in our court that’s started to change colors, a beautiful golden yellow, and I’m hopeful that this pattern of warm afternoons and chilly nights continues.
Plus, when cheeseburgers AND milkshakes land in the same month, life is good!
