This easy-to-make Crispy Chicken Strips sub with a tangy lemon mayo sauce melts in your mouth. Pair it with chips or fries for the perfect weekend lunch or weeknight dinner!
We’ve been big fans of Tyson® Crispy Chicken Strips for—what seems like—ever. At least a decade, but maybe even longer.
They’ve been a freezer go-to for those nights when we’re just so exhausted it’s hard to cook something from scratch and take out just won’t cut it. (Yes, that even happens to me.)
When it’s late and you just need a little something before bed, here come the Crispy Chicken Strips as a simple late-night snack! My husband’s a fan of microwaving them, dowsing in wing sauce and then dipping in bleu cheese dressing—a quick and easy nod to the flavor of a classic chicken wing.
Recently, the recipe changed a bit … they’re now even crispier!
It’s a new and improved recipe that’s perfectly seasoned and tastes amazing (which is good since we were big fans of the original recipe). They’re 100% natural, which means no artificial ingredients and they’re minimally processed, and the all-white meat chicken is an excellent source of protein that has had no antibiotics, ever.
Last weekend I decided to whip together a quick lunch using these new, crispier Tyson® Crispy Chicken Strips.
Following the package instructions, I tossed them in the oven to bake and then prepped everything else while they were cooking.
(It’s worth noting that there are microwave instructions, too, if you’re in a hurry—though I definitely recommend baking to optimize the crispy texture!)
The “prep” is pretty basic. Chopping a few toppings and making the lemon mayo sauce.
The lemon mayo sauce is sooooo easy to make, by the way.
I basically whisked a good dollop of mayonnaise with juice from a quarter of a lemon and some salt and pepper, and then called it a day.
The sauce is tangy, creamy and goes great slathered on a roll and with the perfectly seasoned Tyson® Crispy Chicken Strips.
Once the chicken strips are done, it’s time to build the sub.
Give a slather of lemon mayo sauce on both sides of the sub roll.
For extra fun, toast the roll first—not too much, though, because you don’t want to compete with the yummy crispiness of the Crispy Chicken Strips.
Then, add a couple of leaves of bibb or romaine lettuce, some sliced tomatoes (from your garden if you have them!), another drizzle of the lemon mayo sauce, and a sprinkling of sliced green onions.
Seriously. Mouth-wateringly good. I picked up my bag of Tyson® Crispy Chicken Strips at Target in the frozen food aisle.
